So glad I found this site. I quit cold turkey on new yrs day. Was a 1/2 pack a day smoker for 10 years. I'm 30 yrs old. The first 2 weeks weren't bad, and I thought quitting was going to be easy. Boy was I wrong. Right at about two weeks I couldn't even get out of bed. My appetite was gone, and I was having anxiety attacks big time. That lasted for a few days and I'm feeling better, but still fatigued and anxious. Went to my doctor and my vitals all check out, which has helped with the anxiety. Hopefully this fog will lift soon and I can be myself again.

10 Things I have never done

1. Rode in a Helicopter
2. Rode in a Hot Air Balloon
3. Learned to really play the guitar
4. Visited the only state I have never been in, Hawaii
5. Rode the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon
6. Toured the Alps
7. Driven a race car on a NASCAR track
8. Published a book
9. Gone whale watching on a private tour
10. Conducted a symphonic orchestra

This was actually pretty hard. Probably 1, 2, and 4 are the only ones I will accomplish but hey, if you are going to have a bucket list make the best one you can! I can think of at least 5 more things I would like to do but these are my top 10.

I was lucky enough to drive all of Route 66 when it was still a major highway!
10 things I’ve never done (either regrets or things I’m still working on):
1. Published a song.
2. Been to Alaska, Japan or Australia.
3. Learned Japanese and Italian.
4. Had a garden large enough to live on. (I work on this one every summer.)
5. Stood on the Grand Canyon Skywalk.
6. Been to San Antonio.
7. Seen Carhenge in Nebraska (crossing this one off next summer!)
8. Ridden the rapids on the Youghiogheny River.
9. Walked the length of the Appalachian Trail.
10. Been up in a hot air balloon.
This was fun, mostly because it got me thinking about all I HAVE been able to do! (But I STILL don't want to ride a bull named 'Fu Man Chu'!)

Hi All -

This is reassuring. It's been six days since my last cigarette (I quit cold turkey) and I feel awful! I've "gained" about 8 pounds (in water weight and bloat), my face is super puffy, I have trouble sleeping and when I do sleep, I have very vivid nightmares (many of which are about smoking, ironically enough! ha ha).

I'm going to stick with it, though. I feel so sick that I actually don't want to smoke and have been experiencing something since day 3 of no cigarettes similar to a low grade flu/severe cold. I also have an awful taste in my mouth.

The cravings are subsiding and I'm finding that now it's more mental that physical. I do feel like a water balloon from all the water weight gain - that's been the worst part, honestly.

best of luck to all!

I quit smoking 8 days ago. Got alot of bullshit going on in my life, but i'm trying to hang in there im not sick i have always exercised and been an athlete. I smoked about a pack a day I would push my self to the limits when working out and nothing I wasn't getting bigger like I wanted so I quit smoking and i just feel mad, nightmares sometimes even when i'm awake didn't know that was possible but its weird. I wear the patch i have smoked for 12 years and targets brand seems to help me the best. just rambling on here bad night almost smoked but the girl did not have a cig on her maybe it was a sign. good luck everyone if i can quit this long so can you

There's no question, no if, that you have a gift for helping others reach their potential. Even in the times you help others without mentioning faith, it's clear that you are driven by love, passion, hope, and a desire to help people. You are loved, appreciated, respected, and admired, and Haley is so like you I can't wait to see what she will bring to the world. Thank you for being unapologetically, unquestionably you.

Cricket,
I have been working on my website and after doing a search for some examples of personal sites I stumbled upon yours.

Many years ago while backpacking on the AT, perhaps 1999 or 2000, I came across a hiker with the trail name of Cricket. Might you be that same hiker? She was hiking with a friend but I don't remember the friend's trail name.

I feel like crap. It sucks. I hate everyone. Want to kill something. I feel dizzy, my teeth hurt and can't stop itching. I gave up drugs 25 years ago and it wasn't as bad as this. Had I known it would be like this I would still smoke. I don't want one now because I am sure I would throw up. Good luck to the rest of you. This sucks!!!!!!!
