@Jenny - She is easy to photograph. The camera tends to love her. The Watermelon Carnival is coming up again very soon. We will definitely be there. It is a yearly mother daughter tradition for us. Besides, I love the funnel cakes at carnivals! :)

@Lauren - Thank you for your kind words. Slowly but surely, one step at a time, we will once again land on our feet running!

Hi Cricket,
We don't know each other, I'm just one of your many tremendously grateful students. I've watched you struggle & prayed daily for you both, wishing I could do more.

Never been where you are right now, but I know what it's like to watch your child suffer. I've known every day for over 17 very long years. I would like to share only one thing with you: you have to CONSCIOUSLY CHOSE to "look up" and move forward!

It sounds like you've begun to do that, and I just wanted you to know that you are not alone. Many of us have had to chose to "look up" and begin to live again after watching our children suffer.

I won't insult you by saying time will heal all; I WILL tell you from my own vast experience (you have no idea...) that you will both benefit so much more by fighting this awful thing with joy, laughter and love.

Like a smile, the more you practice it, the easier it becomes, too! Keep looking up and I'll wave if you look my way.

Okay, I'm done. See you in class!

Your photography is as beautiful as ever. Especially this particular shot.

It made me think of the wall climbing story from last year. So I had to go back and look at that photo and re-read the story. Did you go to the Watermelon Carnival again this year?
