Our Photo Journey

Because of You

Day twenty-five of our photo journey …

As I listened to the song, tears began streaming down my face.

“Because of you I never stray too far from the sidewalk . . . “

Because of you, I learned to play on the safe side ...

“Because of you, I learned to play on the safe side, so I don’t get hurt.”

Because of you, I am afraid.

“Because of you, I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me. Because of you, I am afraid.”

Lyrics from Because of You (Kelly Clarkson)

But somehow, just for a moment, I had forgotten the power and strength of this little girl . . .

Today is the day of a reckoning . . .

“Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing, let the whole world know, that today is the day of a reckoning . . . “

It's Independence Day!

“Let the weak be strong, Let the right be wrong. Roll the stone away. Let the guilty pay. It’s Independence Day!”

Lyrics from Independence Day (Martina McBride)

She has the strength, intelligence, and power to choose her future and she is not going to let anyone forget that. I am so proud of her!
