Sometimes It Just Is

Sometimes It Just Is

“You can pour your soul out singin’ a song you believe in, that tomorrow they’ll forget you ever sang. Sing it anyway, yeah sing it anyway.”
(
Martina McBride – Anyway)

You know I tried so hard to harden my heart, to protect myself from the world, from ever hurting again. This last week or so though, I have begun to realize that no matter how hard I try, that just isn’t who I am. It never will be. I am not sure that I would even want it to be.

Nor is it the life I would want for my daughter.

I want for us to be able to hear the music again.

I may pick myself back up, only to get knocked right back down, but that’s okay. Life is just way too short not to do everything in our power to love, to laugh, and to enjoy every moment in our lives.

Sometimes we don’t need to understand everything that happens.

Sometimes, it just is . . .

  1. Yeah, sometimes you just need a little healing space… letting life flow around you, while all the ‘scabs’ start to form. Then you get distracted by something that makes you smile and you take a deep breath and you go do something and something else and there you are back on the sidewalk of life again. Some of us have lots of those times of having to have a healing space, in it’s own way we get used to that and sort of expect there to be something else around the corner. If we are still here we are winning, if we are still here with a vengence we are more than winning… you will ALWAYS be here with a vengence when you emerge from your healing spaces. Working on joining you sister, working on joining you…. love and kisses to you both…. Tina

  2. People with ‘hard’ hearts miss out on too much. And just when life seems as though it will never be good again, a door will open sooner or later and the music will flow through.

You are a wonderful lady and even though we have never met in person I feel that I know you and your beautiful daughter. When you hurt, I hurt.

Let the door open soon and the music start to flow.

    Martha

  3. When you start thinking things can’t get worse….you find out they can; or when you read or hear about something happening to someone and you think….”There’s no way I could deal w/ that….you find you can, one day at a time. That’s the beautiful God given resilience of the human spirit.

BTW, a hardened heart doesn’t heal, it keeps a big scab over the wound. Love and hungs to you and your family, Cyn

  4. Cricket, your everlasting strength, and yes, resilience humbles me. I am so grateful for all the examples you share with us in how you live your life and how you overcome your obstacles. You are the ultimate teacher in so many ways. E
